South Africa’s first commercial 360-degree cinema

The KRUGER 360 Cinema is like stepping into a giant pair of virtual reality goggles! The cinema is built like a cylinder with a 360 wrap-around screen inside that gives guests an immersive viewing experience no matter which way they are facing. Viewers will sit on chairs that swivel and rotate in order to give them the full 360 experience.

Experience the re-location of rhino and get up close to wild animals in our double feature, Rewild and The Big 5, followed by an immersion of the skies in a space safari.

It’s an experience not to be missed. The shows run every hour from 9 o’ clock in the morning with the last show at 7  in the evening.

Back to the moon

The Emmy-nominated ‘Back to the Moon’ celebrates pioneering illusionist and filmmaker Georges Méliès. You’ll be transported inside his magical world via some of his best known films, styles, techniques and characters, the film also features a Mathieu Alvado score recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra.

Space safari

Created by a sustainable energy company this short film has a conservation message. We join an astronaut on a virtual space mission. Together we leave earth and travel through space and see our home like never before, in all its fragile beauty. The message is that once we’ve seen our home, planet Earth, from a new perspective, you’ll be inspired and ready to demand faster green action.

The big 5

This education experience teaches kids about Africa’s Big 5. Everyone told the filmmakers that filming African leopards in the wild in 360VR was impossible. The solitary animals are notoriously hard to catch on camera and are declining in population around the world due to habitat loss. Not only did the crew manage to film the leopards, they even got one on a kill.

Rewild

Rhino poaching in Africa remains rampant. While military-style anti-poaching efforts continue across the continent, inter-governmental partnerships are being forged to re-establish populations in areas where rhino have become locally extinct. In January 2018, six black rhino were chosen to be part of a highly confidential translocation from South Africa to Chad. REWILD is the story of those rhino.
